Best Double Stroller
You've more or less decided you want to get a side-by-side double stroller. But which is the best double stroller to get? Check out our best double strollers reviews below to help you along.
We've rounded up 4 of the top rated double strollers and looked at each stroller's strengths & weaknesses. Truth be told, any of these 4 strollers can win the title of "best double stroller". It all depends on what your needs are. Check out the reviews below to see which one will suit you best!
Jeep Wrangler Twin Sport All Weather Umbrella Stroller
Price: $100
Weight: 20.8lbs
Most appropriate if you'll be using it on smooth pavement or smooth floor. The Jeep Wrangler Twin Sport All Weather Umbrella Stroller (not to be confused with the Jeep Wrangler All Weather Twin Sport G-Edition Stroller below) has almost zero shock absorbency. That's not a problem unless you'll be travelling on less than smooth surfaces. Also, don't bother with the "sun shades" since they're WAY too small. If you'll be using it mostly indoors, then you don't even need the sun shades at all.
On the plus side, this double stroller is very affordable & easily maneuverable. It's also reasonably comfortable since the backrest can be reclined. The foot rest also provides good support, although it is a little on the flimsy side.
All in all, this is a great second stroller. It's compact, reasonably light and will ferry around your kids pretty comfortably. Just don't expect bullet-proof toughness or a magic carpet ride.
Best Double Stroller If: Looking for affordable, compact & light stroller
Maclaren Twin Triumph Stroller
Price: $265
Weight: 22 lbs
The Maclaren Twin Triumph Stroller is a sturdily built double umbrella stroller with an aluminium chassis to lighten things up a bit. Looking at the total weight of this stroller, you can see most of the weight went into the padding of the stroller seats to make it more comfortable. This is definitely one of the most comfortable double umbrella strollers around.
Maneuvering this stroller was also a cinch. For a double stroller, it's very impressive that you can easily move around using just one hand. Perfect for those shopping sessions at the mall. It also fits through almost all single door entrances. So, you don't need to worry whether your stroller will fit through those single doors at the mall.
Negative points? It can be pretty tough to close the stroller. It definitely needs a sturdy "step" on the platform with your foot to snap it close. Saying that, it does work itself looser over time. So, this stroller gets easier and easier to use.
The reversible seat liners are also a great touch. You can change it around depending on which color you prefer. In summary, we highly recommend this double stroller if your budget allows it.
Best Double Stroller If: Looking for sturdy, light, maneuverable & very comfortable stroller
Graco Twin IPO Stroller
Price: $190
Weight: 32.5 lbs
The Graco Twin IPO Stroller is a very sturdily built and comfortable. With it's padded & reclining seats, you can fit two kids of up to 50 lbs each very comfortably. It has a super cool one handed "gravity fold" action that makes folding this double stroller very easy.
You might need to work those muscles when lifting this stroller into your trunk though, since it weighs a not inconsequential 32.5 lbs. Saying that, you don't feel the weight while pushing the stroller around. It handles very well, even if you fit two kids who weigh differently.
The best thing? You truly do get a premium double stroller for a lower price. The only drawback is the heavier weight compared to the Maclaren above.
Best Double Stroller If: Looking for super comfortable, premium-feeling stroller at a lower price
Combi Twin Sport Side-By-Side Double Stroller
Price: $220
Weight: 22.2 lbs
The Graco Twin IPO Stroller is a reasonably compact double stroller. It'll easily fit in your trunk and just takes up as much space as most single strollers. That's a strong plus point especially if you frequently travel with other things stuffed in your car trunk.
Like the other double strollers we've reviewed on this page, it handles reasonably well. The individually reclining seats are a major plus point. Each of your kids can choose to either sit up straight, recline a bit or totally lie flat. It definitely makes keeping each of your kids happy a little easier!
Major negative points? We've found the wheels to be a little flimsy. The build is also not as sturdy as the Maclaren. Quality control on these Graco Twin IPO Strollers can be a little suspect at times. We've heard stories of wheels getting mis-aligned or even breaking after just several uses. Of course, that just happens to a small minority of users.
